Brad is the host with the most. He is an Edmonton born and raised chef who loves food and has made it his life's work. Mostly self taught, he has been an influential part of many Edmonton restaurants. He opened Hardware Grill in 1996 with Larry Stewart and was the executive chef at Royal Mayfair Golf Club. He was selected to be a chef the Alberta House in the Vancouver and London Olympics and on Travel Alberta's luxurious Rocky Mountaineer train from Vancouver to Whistler during the Olympics. He has even had the honour of serving the queen dinner!
Okay, you get it. He's a well-celebrated chef. What's even more interesting about Brad is that he's taken his love and expertise of food into the world of product development. Brad has worked with companies like Nestle and Boston Pizza to create items you find in your grocery store and used in restaurants. He was part of a study with pork producers that were changing pig diets (not genetics) to affect the flavour of the meat (Brad says the difference was unbelievable!). He has his own line of product including Bacon Jam (yes, you read right), barbecue rubs, and his own cookbook called The Canadian Barbecue Cookbook. You can find all of these at the new night market on 105 Street & Jasper Ave.
You can find Brad preparing meals and hosting parties in his downtown space called Kitchen by Brad. It's like walking into your friend's place for a dinner party - an open kitchen with a giant marble island, a large dining area and a wall of bookshelves. Brad hosts winemaker dinners (5 course meals with wine pairings) on a regular basis. You can book the space for Brad to prepare a custom meal for you and your guests, or you can book private cooking classes, or breakfast or lunch meetings. You basically have Brad's food expertise and the space at your disposal for whatever kind of party you dream up.
