Jennifer is the most organized person I know. I first got to know her when putting together the Edmonton Wedding Guide II on City and Dale and have been in awe of her creations ever since. Jennifer has a really interesting job: she's a wedding planner! When she was planning her own wedding, she couldn't find a planner that was right for her taste and needs. She was organizing large conventions at the time and realized there's a gap in the marketplace for a wedding planner like the one she wants. So she started her own business, and there are many happy couples that are glad she did.
Wedding planning is no easy task, and Jennifer loves the challenge. Her favourite part is the personal connection she makes with every couple, and getting to tell the story of their love through design and details is a way for her to be creative (Side note: I love how this is such a left brain/right brain kind of job).
Aside from bringing dream weddings to life (no joke - look at her portfolio), she's active in the Edmonton business community, sitting on the Alberta School of Business Alumni Association and starting her own "support group" (for lack of a better explanation) of women entrepreneurs. In her spare time, she's an avid traveller and loves staying fit through soccer, basketball, yoga, Healthy Rhino and running.
Jennifer's Favourite Places
Jennifer has great taste so you should check out all of the suggestions she's made. Though she puts together custom menus all the time, she sticks to the same things when it comes to feeding herself.
eat// Japonais Bistro - 11806 Jasper Avenue
Jennifer believes they have the freshest sushi in Edmonton, with lots of creative menu items.
eat// Sweet Mango - 9120-82 Avenue
She loves her #37 vermicelli bowl!
go// Constable Ezio Faraone Park - 97 Ave & 110 St
She loves running and spending time exploring the river valley. It's her zen and way of de-stressing and clearing her head.
shop// Old Strathcona Antique Mall - 10323 Gateway Boulevard
Jennifer loves walking through the aisles and soaking in the nostalgia. It's a great place for design inspiration and she's often found "the perfect piece" there.
Jennifer hates shopping but loves buying. Shopping online from ASOS makes this easy for her.
Jennifer's Favourite Things
covet// Fancy gloves from her grandmother
She shares the same birthday as her late grandmother who was a well put together, proper lady. Jennifer now has her collection of fancy gloves and they fit her perfectly. It's such a meaningful heirloom collection that makes her feel very connected to her grandmother.
covet// Vitamin E Face Mist from The Body Shop
She's been using this for years and multiple times per day. If this is a key to her beauty routine, I think all us ladies should go out and buy it.

Jennifer's Words of Wisdom
When making tough decisions (like whether or not to start her own business), she remembers advice that her dad gave her: Do what feels right. She's often giving brides- and grooms-to-be the same advice. Reiterated in a quote she likes from R.M. Drake: "Don't think. It complicates things. Just feel, and if it feels like home, then follow its path."
In typical Jennifer style, she had to make sure the champagne bubbles were just perfect in her note. Above, she illustrates how she needs all 5 areas of her life in balance in order to stay happy (family, friends, health, work, and passion for what she does).
